Gary Halbrooks is the CEO/President of Venue Properties, Inc., with 30+ years of experience in real estate. Under his leadership, Venue Properties, Inc. has become a real estate company involved in the brokerage, development, investment, and management of commercial real estate throughout the southwestern and southeastern United States.
Gary attended Tyler Junior College and graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree. He is currently pursuing a Master of Jurisprudence degree at the Texas A&M University School of Law. He was licensed to sell real estate in Texas in 1983.
Gary currently serves as the Presiding Officer of the Board of Directors of the North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority (NET RMA). He considers the planning and development of Toll 49 in Tyler as a proud achievement of this organization.
Gary served three terms as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the City of Tyler and was appointed to the Tyler Metropolitan Planning Organization as a representative of the Planning and Zoning Commission. He has served on the City of Tyler Comprehensive Plan Committee, the City of Tyler Subdivision Ordinance Committee, and the City of Tyler Tree Preservation Ordinance Committee. Gary is past chair of the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce Surface Transportation Committee, past member of the Board of Directors of the East Texas State Fair, as well as a past member of the Board of Directors of the Tyler Junior College Alumni Association.
Gary and his wife Toni have three children, one daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. They are members of First Baptist Church of Tyler. Gary enjoys supporting student life at The Brook Hill School where he is helping to establish an equestrian program with hopes of teaching valuable life lessons to students.
Dave Sherman -

Dave brings to Venue Properties, Inc. over 40 years’ experience in construction management. From his early days of building homes in Greenville, Mississippi, to the construction of large-scale, multi-phase facilities throughout the south and southeast United States, Dave has successfully planned, coordinated, and led projects to completion.
Dave graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a degree in building construction.
Dave and his wife Teresa have 3 grown children and 11 grandchildren. They are members of the First Baptist Church of Tyler. Dave gives his time to several community organizations including Rotary International and CASA where he serves as an advocate for abused children in Smith County.
Steve Perkins -

Steve Perkins brings 15 years of corporate finance and asset management experience to support Venue Properties, Inc. strategic initiatives and growth strategies. His responsibilities include identifying and evaluating investment opportunities and performing transaction due diligence and lead financial communications with investors and clients.
Prior to joining Venue Properties, Inc., Steve spent 7 years in financial and business development roles for a family office and boutique private equity firm, managing and developing oil / gas and real estate assets. During that time, he executed action plans that led to $200 million in financings.
Steve graduated from the SMU Cox School of Business with a degree in finance and is a CFA Charterholder.
He and his wife Hallye have 3 children and are active supporters of All Saints Episcopal School, Marvin United Methodist Church, and all things Tyler. If not in the office, you’ll find Steve coaching his kids’ sports teams, preparing Sunday School lessons, or inviting you to a workout.
John Estes -
Director of Accounting

John came to Venue Properties, Inc. as Director of Accounting in May of 2019. His previous work experience includes 10 years as a credit manager for a wholesale hardware company, 10 years in the banking field, and 22 years as an accountant for a home health agency.
John is a graduate of East Texas Baptist College with a degree in business.
He and his wife Linda have been married for 34 years and have 5 grown children and 10 grandchildren. Since their children are scattered, John and Linda travel frequently to Arkansas and Colorado for visits. He enjoys playing golf, attending high school football games, and watching the Rangers and Cowboys.
John’s greatest joy comes from his relationship with Jesus Christ. He and Linda worship at Central Tyler.
Jesse Eyestone -

Jesse Eyestone is a self-taught IT and web design professional. Although he has served Venue Properties, Inc. as a web designer and tech support agent in the past, it wasn’t until June of 2021 that he became an official (and very happy) member of the VP family.
Jesse was a member of Toastmasters International and served as his club’s president for two terms. He now teaches public speaking techniques to members of his church or to anyone who would like to learn. He is a firm believer in servant leadership and in being a good steward of what the Lord has blessed him with; his role at Venue Properties is one of those blessings.
Jesse enjoys spending his free time teaching Bible studies or discussing biblical principles, watching classic movies, playing PC games, and fishing.
